Chase Elliott To Make His ARCA Debut This Weekend At Mobile

Chase-ElliottIRVINGTON, Ala. – Dawsonville’s Chase Elliott, driver of the No. 9 Aaron’s Dream Machine/Hendrickcars.com Chevrolet, will add another racing series to his resume when he makes his ARCA Racing Series debut at Mobile International Speedway tomorrow.

“I’m really excited about making my first ARCA start, not only at Mobile, but in general,” Elliott said. “I’ve always heard about how good and competitive of a series it is, and I’m looking forward to being a part of the action this weekend.”

It might be the 16-year-old’s first race in the ARCA Racing Series, but Elliott enters the weekend with a successful racing history at the half-mile track. Elliott has posted two wins, four top-five finishes, five top-10s and one pole position in just six late model starts. In 2010, he became the youngest driver in the track’s history to win the Miller Lite Series championship at Mobile.

Even though he has a successful history running late models at Mobile, Elliott will have to adjust to the ARCA Racing Series cars. But he remains confident knowing that he’s driven on the half-mile before.

“We had a little success there in the 2010 season racing late models,” Elliott said. “I enjoy racing there, and just having an idea of what the track is like will help things get rolling for the weekend and hopefully give us a head start.”

In addition to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series events, Lance McGrew also will sit atop the pit box as crew chief when Elliott competes in the ARCA Racing Series starting this weekend at Mobile.
