Charter School Advocate Group to Hold Meetings in Macon
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Georgia Charter Schools Association is coming to Macon to host two community meetings on public charter schools.
A news release from GCSA says, “With confidence in Macon public schools at an all-time low, GCSA is convening these meetings to increase public understanding of public chart schools and help community groups move forward with high quality petitions.”
The group says another reason for the visit is because six letters of intent to launch public schools in Middle Georgia have been sent to the Georgia Department of Education.
The first meeting will be held on Monday, April 22 from 6 to 8pm at Lundy Missionary Baptist Church located at 2081 Forest Hill Road. This meeting is free and open to the public.
The second meeting will be held on Thursday, April 27th from 5 to 9pm, also at Lundy Missionary Baptist Church. This is a class called Charter Development 101. People who want to attend this class must pay a fee and register online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/6C75H38.
