Charles Johnson Foundation Expands College Scholarships in Middle Georgia

HAWKINSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The Charles Johnson Foundation will make a big impact in Middle Georgia by expanding its scholarship program for 2016.

Since 2012, the foundation has awarded $20,000 to Hawkinsville High School Students.

Now they plan to expand to two additional scholarships between Bleckley County and Wilcox County High Schools.

The scholarship is given to one male and one female student athlete.

Charles Johnson, Hawkinsville High School graduate and Defensive End for the Carolina Panthers said “We’re extremely excited to be able to expand the college scholarship program this year.”

The Charles Johnson Foundation is also looking for 9th-12th graders interested in attending the 2016 Black College Expo in Atlanta, GA on January 23.
