Chambliss, Scott Differ on Plan to Avoid $1.2 Trillion Dollar Spending Cuts

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Senator Saxby Chambliss and Congressman Austin Scott may share party views, but they have very different ideas on how to prevent automatic spending cuts from kicking in at the beginning of 2013.

Congressman Austin Scott is taking a history lesson from his home state.

“I think what Zell Miller did with redirection. It had some pain with it, but it worked and georgia’s economy recovered quite well, so i’d like to see us move down that same path that Zell used,” says Scott.

Scott believes in Miller’s approach to cutting spending evenly across the board.
