CGTC Will Soon Offer Nursing and Engineering Programs

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Central Georgia Technical College will soon be adding two new programs.

The college’s president, Ivan Allen, announced the school will add nursing and engineering programs during a Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce meeting, Friday.

There are more than 13,000 students enrolled at the college, and an additional 5,000 students are enrolled in the Adult Education programs.

Allen told the chamber members, the school is continuing to grow and 90 percent of its graduates are now working in Middle Georgia’s industries.

“The R.N. Program will provide a pipeline of trained healthcare professionals who will keep our hospitals strong and improve patient care throughout the region,” said Allen. “I think in our engineering program we’re looking to service a number of our industries including Robins Air Force Base.”

According to Allen, the college is trying to attract more dual enrollment from Middle Georgia’s high school students. The students will recieve college credit while taking the college courses.

CGTC is also working to enroll more students from over seas to expand its Students-Exchange International program.
