CGTC hosts Move on When Ready Summit
More than 200 college and university administrators along with their staff, learned details about implementation, student eligibility, policies and procedures about Governor Nathan Deal’s “Move On When Ready” program.
The summit was held, Wednesday at the future Hutchings College and Career Academy, located at 1780 Anthony Road in Macon.
The program allows high school students to take college courses, beginning in the fall. Dual enrollment tuition, text books and fees will be funded by the state.
CGTC High School Initiative Coordinator, Kimberly Gunn says high school students can take career or technical classes.
“It’s also those degree level core classes that they need for a two or four year degree,” explained Gunn. “So this program really has something for everyone. This is a way for high school students to truly move on.”
The “Move On When Ready Act,” was signed into law by Governor Deal in April.
