GHSA Girls Basketball: Central & Veterans win big

Central beats Toombs County; Veterans wins over Lakeside-Dekalb

MACON/KATHLEEN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The first round of the GHSA girls basketball state tournament got underway on Tuesday evening.

At Central High School, the Lady Chargers put on a show in front of their home crowd. They won 61-31 over Toombs County to advance to the next round.

They will play the winner of Sumter County and Thompson.

At Veterans High School, the Lady Warhawks faced Lakeside and came out with the victory. They advanced to the next round with a 63-41 win.

They will face the winner of Mundy’s Mill and Brunswick.
