Centerville Elementary Celebrates Regional Stock Market Game Winners

The Stock Market Game is a national program that gives players $100,000 in fake money to invest over a 10 week period. Three fifth graders from Centerville Elementary made a $32,000 profit and earned top honors in Houston County.

“This is the first year we’ve actually won on the regional level,” says Arthur Billings, Assistant Principal Centerville Elementary.

The boys say they learned a lot of life lessons as they were taught the tricks of the trade.

“You need to take some risks sometimes, but not to many,” says winner Jake Maddox.

The winning team will go to Atlanta this May for a celebratory luncheon with all the regional winners in the state.

“I am excited to see what the big award will be like,” says winner William Catey.
