Centerville Convenience Clerk Shot in Face During Armed Robbery
CENTERVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Centerville police are looking for a man who robbed and shot a convenience store clerk Wednesday night.
According to Chief Sidney Andrews, a masked suspect entered the Pure Gas Station off Houston Lake Boulevard around 10:20 p.m. and pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the victim, 38-year-old Rohitkumar Patel of Centerville. The suspect demanded money from the cash register and Patel gave it to him.
Police say the suspect shot Patel in the face before leaving the store. The victim was transported to the Medical Center of Central Georgia to be treated. Police say his latest condition is “critical but stable.”
Police describe the suspect as a five foot male wearing all black. No facial description is available because he was wearing a mask.
The investigation is ongoing. Warner Robins police and Alcohol and Tobacco Firearms are assisting with the investigation.
