Cashier Dies in Macon Family Dollar Shooting

A robbery at Family Dollar on Houston Avenue in Macon leaves the clerk dead.

According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, 38 year old Gary Cole, of Macon, was shot and taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Cole was pronounced dead shortly before 8:30pm.  Cole was the store’s assistant manager.

Police are looking for the shooter, seen in this photo taken from surveillance video holding a gun in his right hand.
