The Monroe County Hospital Authority has promoted longtime hospital leader Casey Fleckenstein to chief executive officer, effective following a January board vote.

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The Monroe County Hospital Authority Board voted Jan. 22 to promote Casey Fleckenstein to chief executive officer.

Fleckenstein brings more than 20 years of experience at the hospital to the role, according to Kerry Trapnell, chief administrative officer of Aletheia Health Partners, the hospital’s management company.

“Casey brings over 20 years of knowledge to this role, and her passion for her hometown community and commitment to the hospital’s success is unmatched,” Trapnell said in a news release.

Leadership experience and recent promotion

According to a news release, in February of last year, Fleckenstein was promoted to hospital administrator, a role that allowed her to focus on daily operations while also serving as the hospital’s chief nursing officer.

While working alongside Aletheia Health Partners over the past year, Monroe County Hospital set multiple records and received several awards, including being named Hospital of the Year for 2025 by Hometown Health, LLC.

Education and career roots

Fleckenstein earned an Associate of Science in Nursing from Gordon College in 2001 and later completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University in 2019.

She began her nursing career at Monroe County Hospital and has been affiliated with the facility for more than two decades. Her connection to the hospital began even earlier, through clinical rotations completed there during high school as part of a health occupations class taught by Mrs. Penny Howard.

Commitment to community and future growth

A lifelong resident of Forsyth, Fleckenstein is raising her family in the community. Her three children attend Monroe County Schools and are involved in sports and extracurricular activities.

Fleckenstein said she is excited to lead the hospital as Monroe County and surrounding areas experience growth.

“As our population grows, so must the hospital,” she said. “Because this is my home, this is my family, and these are my neighbors, I know the importance of having a capable community hospital in our back yard.”

She added that she sees significant potential ahead for the hospital. “With our amazing team and Aletheia Health Partners, we are going to do great things,” Fleckenstein said. “I’m so excited about the future.”
