Byron Historical Society Kicks-off Peach Festival

To kick-off the 2011 Peach Festival the Byron Area Historical Society hosted a luncheon skit, and it was full of familiar faces.

Mayor Larry Collins and Police Chief Wesley Cannon helped act out Stories from the Old Jail. The skit acted out infamous scenes from the Jail’s history.

Peach royalty was also on hand to get the community excited for the 25th annual festival.

“There’s a lot of people here. we had almost 200 hundred tickets for sale, and I believe we have a full house and judging from the noise I hear everybody is excited to be here and to be apart of this event, and we’re proud to be apart of the Peach Festival,” says BAHS President Marlene Humphry.

The Peach festival runs June 3-11.
