Budget Cuts Force RAFB Commissary to Close on Tuesdays
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Robins Air Force Base announced Friday the base’s commissary will be closed on Tuesdays starting July 9.
The store is already closed on Mondays.
According to a release from the base, the furlough days are the result of automatic federal government budget reductions, also known as sequestration, which began March 1.
Commissary director Susan Edmonds says Tuesdays were selected because they would cause the least disruption to customers and vendors.
