Brothers arrested, accused of shooting in domestic incident

Deputies responded to a reported domestic-related incident involving a firearm at a residence on Old Gray Highway on December 18.

JONES COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Two brothers were charged after a shooting last week according to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.

In a Facebook post Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a reported domestic-related incident involving a firearm at a residence on Old Gray Highway on December 18.

They say the investigation revealed a fight began inside the home and later escalated outside, during which a gun was fired and a bullet struck woman. She was taken to the hospital. No word on her condition.

17-year-old Lamarkis Brown is charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Use of an Article with Altered Identification, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Under 18.

19-year-old Christopher Brown is charged with Aggravated Assault, Reckless Conduct, and Criminal Use of an Article with Altered Identification

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
