MACON, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – On Thursday afternoon, Atlanta Braves Manager Brian Snitker stopped by the 41NBC studios to talk all things Braves Baseball with Bill Shanks on The Bill Shanks Show. Before Snitker took off to Mercer to be the keynote speaker at the 16th annual First Pitch Classic, the biggest Mercer fundraiser for the baseball program, the Braves Manager spoke with 41NBC’s Justin Dierkes about the event he was headed to.

“I’m here to help Mercer Baseball get kicked off and I think it’s important for all the schools, and their programs, and it’s kind of the start of their baseball season” said Snitker Thursday afternoon. “We’re fixing to start up ours in a couple of weeks and it’s always a big day for any baseball team when you kick it off.”

Manager Snitker also spoke on how important this event is and what it means to him.

“I’ve sat right in the seat where they’re at and hopefully I’m going to get the chance to go visit with them, and coach Gibson” said Snitker. “It’s big. I think we all have aspirations at that age of becoming a major leaguer and who is to say that they are not? It’ll be exciting to meet a lot of them and hopefully run into them down the road somewhere.

Snitker went onto say, “I have great memories of Macon, and baseball, and it’s just about supporting that team. Supporting the Braves, and the Mercer Bears. So, you know what? Lets go Braves and let’s go Bears.”

The Braves Manager signed autographs, talked all things Braves, and gave his best baseball stories to the huge crowd at the Hawkins Arena Thursday evening.
