(CNN)- Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp has criticized recent presidential pardons, condemning former President Donald Trump’s decision to pardon nearly all January 6th Capitol rioters. While Kemp refrained from mentioning Trump by name, he emphasized that anyone who harms law enforcement must be held fully accountable for their actions.

Kemp also took aim at former President Joe Biden for issuing last-minute reprieves to certain family members, describing the actions as setting an “interesting precedent.” The governor expressed disapproval of blanket or preemptive pardons, suggesting such decisions undermine accountability and justice.

Despite his criticisms, Kemp stopped short of stating whether Trump’s pardons for those who assaulted law enforcement crossed a line.
