Brent Grimes Returns To Practice For Falcons

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA – Falcons starting cornerback Brent Grimes, who has missed three games following surgery on his right knee, is back on the practice field but has not yet been cleared for Monday night’s game at New Orleans.

Coach Mike Smith said Grimes “sure looked good” in Tuesday’s practice. Smith said the next test will be how Grimes feels Wednesday and if he is able to join Thursday’s more demanding practice.

The Falcons had a light practice with an emphasis on fundamentals on Tuesday. After an off day Wednesday, the team will focus on the Saints in Thursday’s practice. Smith says Grimes is ahead of schedule in his recovery.

A healthy secondary would be an important boost for the Falcons against Drew Brees and the Saints.
