Bonaire Business Breaks into Cosmetic Industry with All-Natural Skin Care Line

BONAIRE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Bonaire small business is breaking into big cosmetics with a new, all-natural skin care line.

It’s two cups of pure cane sugar, a dash of organic coconut oil and the most important ingredient of all is “passion.” That is what you will find in the Horizon Cosmetics containers. Aubrey Roberson and Ginger Huff are the driving force behind the company—a skin care line that brings “nature back to your natural beauty.”

“What you put on your skin goes in your skin. You skin is your largest organ so you want everything you put on it to be healthy,” Roberson said. “You don’t want formaldehyde and the parabens and all the gross stuff that is in all the products that your see on the shelves today.”

The ladies hand-make each product using all natural ingredients.

“We’ve got the whipped coconut based body scrub, we’ve got the dry shampoo or body power, face masks, body butters,” Huff said.

“We want to heal and be natural and be set in our skin and healthy,” Roberson said.

It is only five months old, but this small business is making big strides. Last month, Roberson and Huff were invited to New York to promote the line at Jill Zarin’s Luxury Ladies Luncheon.

“To get noticed like we did very quickly lets us know that all the hard work and research that we’ve done is getting out there to a lot of different people that want a different skin line,” Huff said.

People like Michelle Whitley who says the products have helped heal her skin.

“I’ve always had really extremely dry skin so the sugar scrub is amazing for just make my skin so smooth,” Whitley said.

It is that kind of feedback that keeps these ladies going.

“To have a client come in or a consumer that has bought our product come in and say what its done for them, that’s all the passion and motivation right there is to know that we an actually change lives,” Huff said.

And they have bigger dreams for their company on the horizon.

The duo plans to expand their business and offer a male skin care line as well as fall scents for the upcoming season.

Prices range from $12 to $25 depending on the product.
