Boil water advisory issued in Gray after water main break

The advisory will remain in place until water samples are tested and confirmed safe.

GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A boil water advisory is in effect for City of Gray water customers after a water main break caused low pressure and temporary outages in parts of the system on on Wednesday, according to a news release.

City officials said the advisory was issued as a precaution while crews work to repair the main and restore normal water service on July 24. Residents in the affected areas are advised to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and food preparation for at least one minute. Bottled water may be used as an alternative.

Water pressure is expected to gradually increase throughout the day as repairs continue. The advisory will remain in place until water samples are tested and confirmed safe.

City officials said they will provide updates as soon as the advisory is lifted.
