Body found behind Macon shopping center

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a body found behind a shopping center on Emery Highway in Macon, Wednesday.

        Now, investigators want to know how he died.

        The victim has been identified as 62-Year-old Robert Hudson. Hudson’s body was discovered by his cousin, Mr. Shepherd around 6 p.m., behind the CVS Pharmacy and Family Dollar Plaza on Emery Highway., according to Bibb County Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley.

        Miley said the body was found in a one to two feet deep, creek.

        Hudson was spotted walking, near where his body was discovered on Wednesday around 2 p.m., according to Miley.

        “He was apparently seen earlier, this afternoon, by some people in this area,” said Miley. “He is known in this area as a Homeless person.”

       Hudson was not married and did not have children, according to the deputy coroner.

       Miley admitted he had not seen the body, and was unaware if Hudson had been shot, stabbed or bruised.
      
        An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning, to determine how Hudson died.

        As of now, investigators are working the case as a suspicious death.

        “Anytime there is a death that is not known to be natural, we treat it as a suspicious death,” said Miley. “Until, we know or have ruled out all other possibilities.”
