Bobcat Baseball Adds Feller to Coaching Staff
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GCSU RELEASE) – The Georgia College baseball program and head coach Tom Carty have added Mitchell Feller to the Bobcat coaching staff.
“We are very excited about the addition of coach Feller to our staff,” said Carty. “He brings a diverse coaching background, having coached at the junior and four year college level along with collegiate summer ball experience.”
Feller comes to Bobcat Nation from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa where he served as assistant coach. At Dordt, he worked with catchers, assisted with both hitters and pitchers, and led the junior varsity program.
Each season he was at Dordt they had an increase in wins in conference than that of the year before. Prior to Dordt, Feller served as a student assistant at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC). For both seasons, DMACC finished in the top-15 of NJCAA Division II polls including a trip to Enid, Okla. in 2011 for the NJCAA Division II World Series, taking third.
Feller has coached two years of summer baseball, working as an assistant coach for the Neptune Beach Pearl in 2012, and the Klamath Falls Gems in 2011 With the Gems he helped the squad set a league record for wins by an expansion franchise in the West Coast League.
Feller was a two-year letterwinner as a catcher at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. He graduated in 2009 with a degree in sports management.
