Bob Wilbanks and Tom Simms Will Not Run For Re-Election

Bob Wilbanks is an active and vocal member of Warner Robins City Council, but he says it’s time for him to turn his attention to the Warner Robins Community in different ways.

Wilbanks is currently serving in Post 4. He believes while on council they’ve accomplished a lot, but not what he calls their full potential. He says even though he’s not running for re-election, he will continue to remain an active member of the Warner Robins Community.

“It’s not a Bob Wilbanks thing. I guess all too much I’ve been portrayed as being against the mayor. I’m not ya know, I just think that the things in the city of Warner Robins ought to run the way they should. The good voters of Warner Robins elected me for four years, so I’m going to give that to them, you’ve got four more months.”

Tomm Simms who currently serves in Post 2 also decided not to run for re-election. 41 NBC spoke with Simms earlier today, who says he will not be running again for his own personal reasons.

That leaves two positions that will be filled by newcomers in November. Mayor Shaheen says it’s always a challenge when newcomers come on board, but believes it will be a smooth transition.

“I wish them the very best in their future and we appreciate their service to the city of Warner Robins for the past four years.”
