Boaters shot at on Lake Tobesofkee in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County sheriff’s investigators are trying to figure out who and why someone shot at three people on a boat on Lake Tobesofkee.

The incident happened late Saturday night. According to a sheriff’s report, the group was on a boat looking for a spot to go fishing.

They noticed a man who started shooting just feet away from their boat. Sheriff David Davis says he’s concerned about this case.

“It’s a harrowing experience to have a laser pointed at you and to have bullets coming at you and around you when you’re on a boat, but fortunately no physical injuries took place in this incident,” Davis said.

He says this is an ongoing investigation. Deputies have pinpointed where the shots may have come from, and are interviewing residents in the area.
