Bleckley County to appoint new school board member for district 2
Per state law, board members will appoint someone to serve until a Special Election is held in conjunction with the next non-partisan General Election in May 2026.

COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bleckley County Board of Education is accepting applications for the District 2 board seat due to Ms. Dianne Lester’s resignation, according to a news release.
Per state law, board members will appoint someone to serve until a Special Election is held in conjunction with the next non-partisan General Election in May 2026.
Applications can be picked up at the Superintendent’s Office at 259 E. Peter Street in Cochran or can be accessed online. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on March 21, 2025, and the new member is expected to start on or around April 15, 2025.
