Black Friday shopper chooses brick and mortar stores over online shopping

Black Friday begins the day after Thanksgiving, its regarded as the first day of the Christmas shopping season, on which retailers offer special reduced prices.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Some Black Friday Shoppers like Anquonette Davis couldn’t wait to get a look at the Black Friday Deals happening at stores like Academy Sports and Outdoors.

“We’ve been out shopping, went to a couple stores. I think this is our last stop,” said Black Friday Shopper, Anquonette Davis.

Store Manager, Quadralyn Washington said she’s tired but looks forward to them coming in every year.

“The rush, just to see the smiling faces of the families that coming out to shop and just the atmosphere,” said Academy Sports and Outdoors, Store Manager Quadralyn Washington.

Washington said there’s two main reasons shoppers come into stores, instead of browsing online, they want quality and a personal experience.

Just to shop the selection that we have and then also just to get out, you know, with their family and friends,” said Washington.

And, Davis agrees, “it’s more hands on versus being online, you don’t have to wait on your order, you can get what you need and it’s the better experience because you can be hands on.”

Davis said, she’s almost done with her Black Friday shopping, she just has one last store to go to; while Washington said, even though the day is almost over, they have another day of heavy shopping, this time it’s online, Cyber Monday.
