Karen Williams joins us as a 41NBC AccuWeather meteorologist and reporter from Robinsonville, Mississippi. Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she later made Baltimore, Maryland, her home. Now that she’s in Middle Georgia, you’ll mostly see her in our morning broadcasts, 41NBC News at Daybreak  (5am-7am) and 41Today at 11am.

Before arriving in the Mississippi Delta, Karen served as the Morning Meteorologist for Herald-Mail Media’s HMTV6 in Hagerstown, Maryland. She covered historic weather events, including Superstorm Sandy, an early-season blizzard in Maryland, and severe flooding in southeastern Maryland. She also worked as a weekend meteorologist and reporter at The Delta News in Greenville, Mississippi, and as a weather producer/trainee at WBFF FOX 45 in Baltimore, where she assisted with graphics and live shots.

Karen holds a Master’s Degree in Broadcast Meteorology with a minor in Geosciences from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Radio-Television-Film from Temple University. She is also a proud member of the National Weather Association.

From an early age, Karen was captivated by the challenge of making the unpredictable more predictable. She loved analyzing cloud formations and watching storms roll in, which ultimately led her to a career in weather forecasting.

When she’s not working, Karen enjoys traveling, attending smooth jazz and R&B concerts, and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles.
