Bibb teachers test Leader in Me program
Staff at Burdell-Hunt Magnet School and Carter Elementary School are participating in the “Leader in Me” pilot program. All week the teachers are learning about the Seven Healthy Habits of Highly Effective People. Then they’ll work on how to implement these skills in the classroom.
“A different outlook on every situation that we encounter. I think that we could all use this both personally and professionally and I think it will help our students to be leaders in the school and in the community,” said Alison Scott, a 4th grade teacher at Burdell-Hunt Magnet School.
The total cost of the program is $93,000 dollars. The school district is covering about a third of the cost. The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce and the Macon-Bibb Industrial Authority is paying for the rest.
