Bibb School Board Settles Civil Suit Over Dallemand Contract

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Bibb County man who filed a civil suit against the Bibb County School Board, claiming former superintendent Romain Dallemand’s contract was illegally approved, has reached a settlement outside of court.

Thomas DeFore claimed the school board violated the Open Meetings Act when approving Dallemand’s most recent contract.

The school board denied those allegations.

Since Dallemand has resigned and reached a severance agreement with the district, the board will settle with DeFore and pay him and his attorney, Charles Cox, Jr., a total of more than $17,000.
