Bibb deputy shoots at suspect in Pleasant Hill neighborhood
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Bibb County Sheriff’s deputy shot at a suspect running away from him in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood Monday afternoon.
Deputy Sherrell was in the Grier Street area around 5:30 p.m.
He saw two men shooting guns into the air as he approached Neal Avenue, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Sherrell told the two men to drop their weapons and both ran away.
The deputy chased one of them because both ran in different directions.
Investigators said the suspect was heading toward the woods and turned around toward the deputy pointing his gun at him.
The deputy fired his gun at the suspect twice, according to the news release.
The suspect kept running into the woods.
No injuries were reported.
Bibb County Sheriff’s investigators and the Bibb County Sheriff’s Internal Affairs Division is investigating the shooting.
