Bibb deputy catches unsuspected burglars

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Bibb County Sheriff’s deputy caught three suspects attempting to break into the Midway Package Store on Hawkinsville Road.

According to a news release, the incident happened around 3:30 a.m.

Deputy Scarborough stopped at the store to make a check when he heard a noise near the business’ fence.

He shined his flash light in the area and noticed three males attempting to break into the fence.

The suspects ran. Two were later arrested and identified as 18-year-old Malik Deshun Towns and 25-year-old Santonio Dewayne Mattoc Jr.

They are both charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary.
