Bibb deputies searching for suspected gang member

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find a Macon man wanted for aggravated assault.

Investigators say 27-year-old Johntellis Montez Mathis is associated with the Blacc Team which is a local street gang. According to the sheriff’s office, the incident happened in December at the Macon Garden Apartments.

Authorities say Mathis pulled out a gun and made threats to the victim. The sheriff’s office believes Mathis was participating in criminal street gang activity during the incident.

Mathis is 5’11” and weighs approximately 225 pounds.
