Bibb deputies search for Subway restaurant robber

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s office is looking for a man who robbed a subway restaurant Tuesday night.

The robbery took place at the location on Mercer University drive around 9:30 p.m.

Deputies say the suspect walked into the store with a revolver and demanded that the employee open the safe and the cash register.

The employee told the thief that he could not open the safe but gave him cash from the register. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash and the employee’s cellphone, he ran off.

The employee was not hurt during this incident. The suspect was wearing a black shirt wrapped around his head.
