Bibb Deputies Investigating Fatal Accident

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal accident that happened in East Bibb Friday afternoon.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says 44-year-old Sidney Jackson died at the Medical Center of Central Georgia Friday. Jones says Jackson apparently lost control of his 2011 Ford Mustang as he was driving on Jeffersonville Road just after 2:30.

According to the sheriff’s office, Jackson drove across the eastbound lanes, hit a curb, a fire hydrant, and then partially flipped his car over before hitting a telephone pole.

The passenger in the front seat is listed in stable condition as of Friday.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
