Bibb County’s Class of 2011

The first 2011 Bibb County graduation kicked off Friday with the seniors of Northeast High School.

Whether college or a job is next, for many of these graduates it’s just the beginning.

“People say it’s the end, but it’s just the beginning, the stepping stone to starting,” said 2011 graduate Calvin Banks.

Four years of homework, keeping up with grades while trying to maintain a social life, the good times and the bad times all add up to this moment.

Bibb County School Board President Tommy Barnes says, “Every student that walks across the stage tonight and tomorrow will be well deserving young men and young women, we wish them the best and the whole world before them so we can only imagine what they’ll do.”

Superintendent Dr. Romain Dallemand experienced his first Bibb County graduation in his new role and said, “It’s a great night, it’s a night to celebrate, it’s a night where our students get to receive the fruits of their hard labor.”

Dallemand eventually would like to see 100% of Bibb County’s students walking across the stage and that’s something he plans to address in the near future.

Additional Bibb County high schools that will have graduation ceremonies are: Central, Westside, Southwest, Rutland, Hutchings, and Howard High Schools.
