Bibb County SPLOST Committee Holds First Meeting

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County SPLOST Committee met for the first time today to establish some ground rules. In their first meeting, the committee made up of seven community members got right down to business.

The big agenda item was a motion to have city and county leaders bring an overview of their SPLOST projects to the next committee meeting. The group wants the local leaders to specify how they plan to keep them up to date on the following:

• Financial plans
• Project updates and priorities
• Inclusion of local workers, and women and minority groups in projects
• Acquiring goods and services for the projects
• Communication between leaders and the group moving forward
