Bibb County Sheriff’s Office urges caution ahead of 4th of July celebrations

Fireworks can be used after 10:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m.  on July 3 and July 4.

BIBB COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –

Deputies say celebratory gunfire is dangerous and against the law. According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, shooting firearms recklessly and discharging a firearm 50 yards from a public street or highway are both against the law.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public to be mindful and remember what goes up must come down and that incidents from celebratory gunfire can easily be avoided.

Fireworks can be used after 10:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m.  on July 3 and July 4. Fireworks must be discharged by someone over the age of 18-years-old and an adult must always be present.
