MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is teaching teenagers to become defensive drivers through unique technology.

The sheriff’s office has taught the class, which includes driving simulators, for 10 years.

It’s an eight-hour course which includes classroom work, too. Recently, the software for the simulators expired, but funding from the Macon-Bibb Law Enforcement Foundation provided updated software to help teens virtually drive in all weather conditions and scenarios.

The class is once a year. You can sign your child up if they’re between the ages of 14 and 20. You can receive a discount on your insurance, too. Call (478) 803-2710 for more info.
