Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigating shooting involving a newborn

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault incident that occurred near the intersection of O’Hara Drive South and O’Hara Drive North.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –  The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault incident that was reported to have occurred near the intersection of O’Hara Drive South and O’Hara Drive North, at 11:49p.m Monday night.

Deputies responded to a call from Atrium Health Navicent Police in reference to a child shot.

When Deputies arrived, they were advised that a one-month-old baby was transported to the hospital by personal vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to Medical Staff, the infant is currently listed in stable condition and no one else was reported injured.

Investigators are working to determine what led up to the incident.
