Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigating after 5-year-old shot at Bridgeview Inn and Suites

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a 5-year-old boy was shot Tuesday at the Bridgeview Inn and Suites in Macon.

According to the sheriff’s office, the incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 9:21 p.m. Deputies responded and determined the child had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound at the hotel in the 6000 block of Harrison Road.

Investigators said the shooting appears to have been accidental, but the case remains in the early stages of the investigation by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.

The sheriff’s office said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
