Bibb County Sheriff’s Office gets K-9 body armor
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. paid for Beko, Kurt and Remi’s body armor. A news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says each vest is costs between $1,795-$2,234 and have a five year warranty. Remi’s handler is happy his partner has extra protection out in the field.
“The unknown of where our dogs would search, dark areas where we’re not able to get in. An explosive search we’re not able to go in by hand and search first so we allow the dogs to go in and search for the explosive device,” says Deputy Sheriff Justin Leese.
The non-profit organization is located in East Taunton, MA. The group’s mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to law enforcement dogs, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
