Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrest suspects connected with commercial burglary

The suspects were charged with felony second degree burglary.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit arrested two men in connection to a burglary that occurred Thursday afternoon.

Deputies passed Houston Grocery located at 4315 Houston Avenue and noticed a white passenger vehicle backed in at the side of the closed business. One of the men was removing property from inside the business, then loading it inside the vehicle, where there was another man.

Both men were arrested. The business owner reported the men had no permission to be on the premises or to take anything from the business.

The men were identified as 62-year-old Eddie Eugene Slatton and 67-year-old Joe Wesley Shipman.

Slatton and Shipman were charged with felony second degree burglary. Slatton and Shipman do not have a bond.
