Bibb County deputies investigating west Macon shooting

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County deputies are investigating a shooting that happened Thursday afternoon in west Macon.

Deputies responded to Precision Tune at 3240 Mercer University Drive just after 4 o’clock after receiving a call about a shooting.

The victim was not there when deputies arrived.

The sheriff’s office then got a second call about a person shot at the corner of Church Hill Street and Brentwood.

That’s where deputies found the Precision Tune shooting victim, 43-year-old Joseph Silas Jr., with a gunshot wound to the face.

Silas was taken to Medical Center, Navicent Health. He’s being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies don’t have any information about the shooter.
