Bibb County Sheriff sends letter to city leaders asking for pay raise for deputies

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – In a continued effort to make sure the salary of Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies remains competitive, Sheriff David Davis recently sent a letter to Mayor Lester Miller and Macon-Bibb County Commissioners.
In the letter, he asks for a 6% raise for current and future deputies in the upcoming 2025 fiscal year budget.
Sheriff Davis explains in the letter, with higher pay to law enforcement in surrounding counties, makes it harder to hire and retain employees.
