Bibb County School District hiring bus drivers
BCSD is looking to fill 50 school bus driver positions.
MACON, Georgia(41NBC/WMGT)- The Bibb County School district is looking to fill 50 school bus driver positions.
The district will use funding from the American Rescue Plan to move from a three tier to a two tier bell schedule. That means middle and high school students will be in school at the same time, which calls for more buses on the road.
New bus drivers will get a $1,000 bonus and more benefits, according to Director of Transportation Anthony Jackson.
“We offer paid training as well,” Jackson said. “So once the candidate has received their CDL permit, then we offer them a service agreement, where they are able to earn as much as $10 an hour while they’re training to obtain their CDL license.”
The district says four people have applied so far.
