Bibb County School District celebrates Black History Month

Students, faculty, and community members are invited to participate in a range of activities designed to celebrate the rich history and contributions of African Americans.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/ WMGT) – The Bibb County School District is honoring Black History Month throughout February with a variety of engaging events across its schools, according to a news release.

    • Hartley Elementary School 1:30 p.m.
    • Southwest High School 5 p.m.
  • February 21
    • John R. Lewis Elementary School 1:30 p.m. Black History Fashion Show
    • Westside High School 9 a.m. – 10:45 a.m and 1 p.m. – 2:35 p.m.
  • February 24
    • Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Elem 5:30 p.m.
    • John R. Lewis Elementary All Day Each grade level will represent a different
      period in the life of John R. Lewis
    • Howard High School 6 p.m. Art gallery opens at 5:30 p.m., student
      performances begin at 6 p.m.

    • McKibben Lane Elementary 6 p.m. during PTA meeting
    • Miller Magnet Middle School 7 p.m. at the Douglass Theatre
