Bibb County Residents Receive Power Bill Assistance
Monday night, some Bibb County Residents spent the night at Saint Paul AME church hoping to be one of the first 250 people to get help with their power bill. Hundreds of people showed up this morning at Saint Paul AME church to get help with paying their power bill. Executive Director of the Macon Bibb EOC, Jimmie Samuel, says this program is part of a safety net that enables people to have heat during the cold winter months. Emmalue Flowers spent the night at the church. Flowers brought her blanket, lawn chair, and Bible.
“I Thank God for the resources at EOC and the whole organization that organized the program”, said Emmalue Flowers
“I think it’s very important for the broader community to understand this is not a handout program it’s a hand up program. This program positively affects Macon / Bibb county community, said Jimmie Samuel, EOC Executive Director.
If you need help paying your power bill the Macon Bibb County EOC will be Saint Paul AME Church tomorrow morning at 7am. On January 18th the EOC will be at Union Baptist Church , located at 1137 Kitchens street in Macon . All applicants are required to provide documentation of citizenship.
