Bibb County Planning Transition for Animal Shelter

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – On July 1st, when Bibb County takes over several city employees and their departments, responsibility for Macon-Bibb Animal Control will also fall on their shoulders.

“We need to look at everything including staffing, management, direction, mission, goals,” says Bibb County Commission Lonzy Edwards.

These are items Edwards anticipates will be addressed within the next 60 days. He says Bibb County Commissioners are also focusing on making preparations for the new facility. They’re looking for an architect to design the building, scouting out locations, working out policy procedures, and developing a plan for oversight.
