Bibb County man arrested for aggravated assault

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –A man was arrested and charged for aggravated assault on Brookwood Drive, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a call about a possible shooting on May 28. The caller said that the shooter fired shots at two victims in a Honda Accord and then hid inside his home.

The man surrendered to deputies and a search warrant was served. Deputies found a stolen firearm in an upstairs back bedroom that was hidden in a pair of boots.

The man has been identified as Richard Briggs.

Briggs was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center.
