Northeast coach expects defense to play well
Northeast football head coach Jeremy Wiggins, who’s entering his seventh season as the Raiders’ head coach, says he’s seen some surprises during the offseason.
“The way we’ve been playing this summer on defense, playing physical and fast, it’s been a really big surprise on some changes we made in the off-season and developed things to better suit our athletes,” he said. “I think the defense is going to be like, everyone is going to be saying, ‘Darn, they can play defense pretty good.’ The offense usually takes a little bit longer, but you’ll see something a little bit different from us for the next season on the offensive side of the ball. I can’t wait until Friday to get a chance to put it all together officially.”
Northeast hosts Greene County in a scrimmage this Friday at Thompson Stadium. The game will start at 7 p.m.
