Bibb County employees participate in Wellness Day at Sandy Beach Park
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – As part of Public Works Appreciation Week, Macon-Bibb County hosted its wellness day at Sandy Beach Park.
Members from Public Works, Parks & Beautification, Engineering, along with Vehicle Maintenance, and Facilities Management Departments participated in many different wellness activities.
The activities included a crab walk, horseshoes, corn hole, wheelbarrow races, and tug-of-war.
This is the sixth year Macon-Bibb County hosted this event for Public Works Appreciation Week. Last year, the Parks & Beautification Department took home the championship trophy.
County Manager Keith Moffett says this gives employees an opportunity to come out and do a day of wellness.
“We know that just simple walking can benefit the body. So this is a way of us to encourage and give out information all day about things,” Moffett said.
The competitions were judged by the Recreation Department and awards were given out to the winning teams and departments.
